Hypnotherapy for Confidence

We get in our own way, a lot! People come to see me for hypnotherapy when part of them wants to do something, such as present or go for an interview, and part of them wants to just get out of the situation. It can be a vicious circle of self-criticism, leading perhaps to one or more of the below:

  • Anxiety

  • Feeling like a fraud – imposter syndrome

  • Negative inner dialogue – inner critic

  • Poor self image

  • Worrying that people will find you out or what they might think

  • Comparing yourself with others

  • Overthinking

  • Procrastination – putting things off

  • Not enjoying achievements

  • Avoiding standing out

  • Frustration of feeling stuck

  • Unconscious blocks

  • Jealousy

  • Self sabotage – unhelpful habits

  • Money issues

It certainly might not feel this way, but these are usually symptoms of your unconscious trying to protect you by trying to avoid something that it’s learnt is threatening.

This learning could be from something obvious, like someone in your childhood putting you down, or something more subtle.

It doesn’t matter what it is, just that we can change how this affects you now. Hypnotherapy can be very powerful in redefining the positive intention behind the unconscious protective response.

The good news is that confidence is an inside job. Just as we can sabotage ourselves the opposite is true too: we can cultivate a much more positive way of helping ourselves to thrive.

Imagine looking forward to opportunities and no longer dreading things like interviews, auditions, presentations, speeches, exams, promotions, social situations or relationships.

How would you love to feel in situations that, up until now, you found challenging? If you imagine having that change, what difference would this make in your life? What could you do more of? What would you enjoy? Changing how you feel about yourself can have such a positive ripple effect in many areas.

I design sessions to meet your specific needs, but in general we work together to:

  • Identify triggers of low confidence

  • Look at past events, how they’ve influenced your confidence and change how you respond to them unconsciously

  • Learn strategies to make yourself feel more comfortable and confident

  • Let go of any negative habits getting in the way

  • Build on what works for you already

I write and record MP3s specifically for you using the hypnotic language patterns I’m trained in. I also send talks, articles or tasks to support you in between appointments. People normally find these resources very helpful in strengthening the insights gained in the sessions.
