Hypnotherapy for Insomnia
We know that sleep is so important for a number of things and many of us struggle to get the sleep that we need. Over the years I’ve helped hundreds of people with hypnotherapy for insomnia. People with sleep issues usually describe one or both of two circumstances.
Firstly it’s the inability to switch off: lying awake for an age and feeling increasingly frustrated.
Secondly there’s the problem of waking up and not being able to get back to sleep. We all pass through light and deep sleep cycles. During light sleep cycles we scan and check our environment for danger, an instinct that survives from our early evolutionary history. However, built-up stress in the form of cortisol can cause us to come out of light sleep cycles, and this can be why we wake up at the same time each night.
When we’ve struggled to sleep for a while we get into a habit of anticipating a terrible night. We can research a lot and try lots of the usual tips, which ironically can lead to negative associations that make us less likely to get the sleep we need. It’s common to use stimulants and other unhelpful ways to function and get through the day, but these end up being counterproductive too. The longer it goes on for the harder it is to believe that you can ever have good sleep again.

Breaking the cycle
Most people with insomnia understand it’s an unconscious thing, something that they aren’t doing intentionally. Cognitive Hypnotherapy is great for breaking the cycle and letting go of any negative habits or beliefs you’ve picked up. Be supported with making lifestyle changes to facilitate sleep

Have confidence with your renewed ability to get to sleep
I write and record MP3s specifically for you using the hypnotic language patterns I’m trained in. I also send talks, articles or tasks to support you in between appointments. People normally find these resources very helpful in strengthening the insights gained in the sessions.
